I hear jazz, all the time. When I am at the check-in counter at the airport. When I watch TV. When I hear speeches. When I'm laughing with friends. Life is a never-ending jazz piece. I hear the bass, drums, and piano all the time. People talking sounds like clarinet and sax riffs. Falling water, wind, everything I hear has a jazz counterpart. When the world seems chaotic, listen for the jazz playing under it. Somewhere, someone is looking for the right chord. Be patient. Some players take a long time to find the key. Sometimes, I'm one of them.

| The Mustang TV News (MP3, 3.8MB, added 20 Sept 2001) This piece was made using Jammer Pro for the most part, and I played the piano parts. It was for my daughter's high school journalism project. It's a collection of snippets for news background. |
Just in case anyone might be curious, here's what I use to make music.
Sequencer: Cakewalk Pro Audio 8.0, Cakewalk
Notation: Encore 4.0, Passport Designs
Styles: Jammer Pro for Windows 4.0, Soundtrek
Scanning: Midiscan, Musitek
Wave, MP3, AIF conversion: GoldWave
(added 2 June 2001)
I play very little anymore. Most of the time, I put the chord progression into Jammer Pro, get the background I want, and then play melodies on top of it or sequence them in Cakewalk. I haven't been in a band since 1986, when we played Greek Barbecue places in South Dallas as either the King Cabs or Inca Sue and the Sun Gods. I don't think that we ever agreed on a name and it's probably best.
If you don't hear music playing when you view this page, your browser doesn't play the MIDI files automatically. You can click on hyperlinks at the bottom of the various music pages to download them.
2 June 2001 - I've recently learned how to make MP3 files, and over time I plan to put more of my music on the site. I enjoyed making it in the first place, and you might enjoy hearing some of it.
