Around Christmas in 1997, I was very hung up on a specific guitar sound that was in my 05R/W. I spent a lot of time trying to play the synth patch the same way that I played the guitar - stretching strings and the like. Actually, I can't play the guitar as well as the melody in this song - but I can fake it with a keyboard!
